Ubuntu Deja Vu...

Didn't this already happen?

Oops.

It's a little disturbing that this has happened twice now. I would really like to see Ubuntu as the primary OS in people's homes as well as businesses, but problems like this could keep that from happening. On the upside, the ubuntu team is really great at identifying and fixing the problem as quickly as possible. Perhaps ubuntu could develop an update delay feature for end users that require absolute stability. Basically, the update manager would wait a week before installing any new update to help avoid problems like this. It's just a thought.

Off Topic: I enjoy reading your blog and have noticed that you don't get many comments, so I finally decided to post. Keep up the good work :)

Woohoo, a comment! :)
(I'm glad it's not just Google bot reading my blog, lol)

Yeah, a delay feature or something like that would be nice. I mean, that's pretty much what I've just been doing on my own - making sure not to install updates right away.

I read that someone suggested trying to push out the updates to a group of testers first, so that any regression would occur on a smaller scale and get caught before it ruins everyone's computers...

Thanks for the comment! I honestly think 50% of the "blogging experience" is the discussions and comments in response to people's entries... :)
